Elevation Polish Tools of the Trade Collection and Geo Duo (LE) - Swatches and Review ♥

Press Sample

Happy Saturday! Today is the 6th which means tomorrow is the 7th and in the nail polish world that means something very exciting - Elevation Polish re-stock and launch date! Tomorrow is the launch of The Tools of the Trade Collection and the Limited Edition Geo Duo and I have some of them to show you! It's a lengthy post with lots of pics, I hope you enjoy!

The Tools of the Trade Collection is made up of 5 polishes and I have the following 3 to show you (descriptions taken from Elevation Polish's website) -

I got the Axe: Ice axe that is. Based on my favorite pair of ice axes, the polish is sort of a mix between green melon and lime. It looks like a solid color indoors but brightens and twinkles outdoors. Direct sunlight lets the sparse holographic pigment and soft shimmer really shine.

Prusik or Loop it: Prusik is a staple in my "bug out" bag. Nothing like a good squishy blue to brighten a day. This blue is very jelly, 3-4 coats for full coverage, and has blue micro shimmer and white medium sized flake shimmer.

Finding Nemo: No, not the lovable fish. Nemo as in the tent. There is nothing like finding and seeing that lovely bright green off in the distance reminding you that your temporary home isn't that far away. The polish is a clear based glitter topper. It is a soft blend of a variety of iridescent glitters and green matte glitters, including some sparse green matte circle glitters.

The Limited Edition Geo Duo is described as follows -

This duo will only be available for a limited time. Restocked on the 7th of July, 7th of August & 7th of September
Dykh-Tau - is very similar in coloring to Jengish Chokusu. Sort of a greenish sea glass. Dykh-Tau has an element of twinkle to it. Sparse holographic pigment and a teal-ish wink blended in.
Dzhangi-Tau - Teal-ish shimmer base with various white hexes, squares and sparse matte light teal circle glitters.
Inspiration: Due to popular demand. A favorite and much emailed about custom piece will now be offered as a limited edition duo. The original names for the pieces were “Brand new scrubs & dr’s jacket” I’m very happy to be able to offer this duo with a few slight tweaks from the original version including the names.

Swatches and review after the jump!

Prusik or Loop It, I Got the Axe and Finding Nemo from the Tools of the Trade Collection

First we have I Got the Axe. I love this shade of green and the sparkle and subtle holo that this polish has in the light (which my camera had a hard time capturing). The formula was a tad on the thick side but not troublesome - just make sure to let the first coat dry before adding a second to avoid dragging. I'm showing 2 coats and no topcoat.

Prusik or Loop It is an amazing royal blue jelly with micro-flakes and shimmer that make it come to life! I've really been into jellies lately and I love the squishiness of this one but also love the fact that it's opaque in 3 coats. I am showing 3 coats and no topcoat.

Finding Nemo looks awesome over so many different colors! Any green and/or glitter fan needs to get this one for sure! It had a wonderful formula and what you see on my nail is exactly as it came out of the bottle - I did no placing or dabbing. I'm showing it over several different base colors, as well as in a jelly sandwich! This glitter is smooth and shiny on its own, and not a topcoat eater at all. I used 1-2 coats of Finding Nemo in all the photos and one coat of topcoat.

(Any bubbles seen are from my topcoat, not the polish.)

Dykh-Tau is very similar in color to Jengish Chokusu but has a shimmer and subtle holo as well as being a bit dustier than Jengish. The formula was wonderful and I used 2 coats and no topcoat for the photos.

Dzhangi-Tau is such a light and feminine glitter - and you gotta love the ice blue circle glitters and shimmer! I think this would be a really pretty polish for a wedding. Once again, formula was perfect and I have no issues to report. One coat of topcoat for the photos.

(Any bubbles seen are from my topcoat, not the polish.)
